- Stack: go, typescript (React 19, Vite, Tailwind CSS v4, Connect RPC, Protocol Buffers). Difficulty for a non-developer with an AI: **moderate**. Styling and the built-in extension points (custom CSS/JS, webhooks, API, MCP) are easy. Code changes span a Go backend and a React frontend, and API changes need protobuf code generation.

Personal data: **yes**. Stored in: SQLite by default, in the mounted data folder (~/.memos); MySQL/PostgreSQL optional. Secrets are entered by the person, never in chat.
